| OBJECTIVES |
| The main technical objectives of N-CRAVE project are the following: |
-
Push further the theoretically attainable performance limits of networked systems with
respect to capacity, throughput, latency, complexity and energy with a view towards
practically encountered scenarios. These translate to multi-fold performance
improvement compared to existing state-of-the-art.
-
Develop techniques for optimally realizing advanced modes of information transport
such as group-to-group and multi-cast communication with several simultaneous
sessions.
-
Quantify the benefits, requirements and challenges of network coding towards
robustness and operational simplicity in dynamically changing networks with minimal
infrastructure, and provide solutions for resilient communication in extremely volatile
unstructured environments.
-
Design key components and mechanisms of the protocol stack for realizing novel
modes of information transport, flow control, and content distribution including end-toend
peering with network coding as an enabler.
-
Utilize intrinsic features of network coding to quantify and fortify information secrecy
and resilience of transported data to malevolent actions.
-
Develop viable solutions for efficient content distribution and storage in isolated mobile
network overlay worlds based on network coding.
-
Provide proof-of-concept validation through an experimental wireless test-bed with
various wireless network coding schemes and algorithms.
